Quality Policy
We are committed to achieve excellence in training, to upgrade the knowledge and skill of employees of Ordnance Factories and allied establishments and also to bring positive change in their attitude.

We will continuously strive to comply with, review and continually improve the effectiveness of Quality Management System so as to achieve total customer satisfaction.

Our factory has its own Quality Control Group to ensure that the quality standards are maintained from the receipt of raw materials till the finished product through proper process control.

OFDC dedicates itself to Total Quality. We shall constantly strive to be a supplier of Quality goods and services by anticipating and fulfilling the expectation of all our customers.

Commitment to Quality requirements, continual improvement of Quality Management System, Team Work and Quality shall be our guiding values.
Quality Objectives
Continuous up-gradation of infrastructure & facilities to enhance the customer satisfaction.
Technical up-gradation and human skill development through training at all levels to improve skill and to develop positive attitude towards work.
To make the products conforming to customer's requirements and supply them in time.
To respond to customer's complaints promptly and effectively and satisfy their stated, implied and obligatory needs.
To train and motivate the employees and reward them suitably in recognition of their contributions.
To upgrade manufacturing processes by continuously employing latest technologies.
To meet obligations to society, by providing clean and safe working environment for employees and by ensuring optimum utilization of resources.
Achieving the production target given by Ordnance Factory Board.
Enhancing the quality level through continual improvement and minimize / eliminate rejection percentage in process and proof.
Improving safety standard to minimize / eliminate number of accidents.
To achieve better customer satisfaction.
To improve all QUALITY management facets through monitoring of Roadmap for Total Quality.
Training of personnel at all levels in planned manner to achieve the above objectives.
Safety Policy
To attain zero accident target through laid down safety rules and perpetual endeavour to provide comfortable, hazard-free and clean working atmosphere to the employees.

Both Management and Unions, are committed to create a healthy and safe environment for all employees in the organization and jointly promote effective functioning of bipartite forums. It is our endeavour to collaborate in achieving accident free production in the Factory.
Safety Objectives
To ensure that every employee while at work is safe and without risks to health.
To maintain industrial safety and health of employees, both physical and mental and presentation of working environment and conditions as safe and healthy.
To progressively reduce accidents to "ZERO" level. For this purpose all work areas, those involving risks and hazards, must be identified and all factory employees must be provided suitable safety training.
To identify potential Fire, Safety and Health hazards and to take remedial measures accordingly.

IT Policy
Information Technology Centre is intended to facilitate the Organisation by way of data processing over enormous database, evolving integrated solutions for System Information needs and instant retrieval of information for presentation, analysis and taking the right decisions at right time.
IT Objectives
To fulfil the information system requirements of customers (User sections) to their total satisfaction.
To observe effective physical security procedures to restrict the access to computer system.
To make available the relevant and timely information simultaneously in many places.
To use original software purchased from authorised vendors to avoid legal entangle.
To preserve the old data in order to retrieve the relevant Information at any time.
To update backup data periodically.
To present information before the Management in the desired format to assist in taking appropriate action in time.
To ensure safe custody of software and data.
Environmental Policy
Factory has an Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) for treating the effluent (Water) received from Metal Finishing Section, the consent of prevention and control of Pollution has been renewed from Estate Pollution Board till 2009. The consent of waste (Management and Handling) also taken from West Bengal Pollution Control Board (WBPCB) valid till 2011. Regular monthly testing of Sewage Water also done by authorised Laboratory by WBPCB.

There is a dispensary having qualified Doctors and Medical Staff in factory Health Clinic inside the factory and outside the Estates.

The Factory has a well-knit Safety & Environment Management Section which monitors adherence to statutory requirements and model code of conduct with regard to industrial safety.

Ordnance Factory Dumdum, Kolkata while manufacturing ammunition hardware parts and weapon components and rendering services through it’s hospital, is committed to prevent pollution within and around the factory, involving its all employees and through following actions:

Complying with applicable legal requirements and other requirements to which the factory subscribes and which relates to it's environmental aspects.
Reducing waste, exploring opportunities for reuse & recycle and conserving energy.
Developing, implementing & maintaining an Environmental Management System and continually improving its performance.
Implementing, maintaining & communicating the policy to all persons working for or on behalf of the organisation and making it available to the public & interested parties.
Prevention of air, water and soil pollution.
Complying with applicable legal requirements.
Continually improving our environmental performance by minimising waste generation and conservation of resources.
